Flower Sightings 2024 - First Photograph of Each Species
in chronological order

The sighting of a Bluebell leaf on January the 2nd was amazing and three other flower leaves were also spotted in early January. The winter was very mild and wet which stimulated this early growth.
And on 25th January the first spring flower - Bittercress in Middle Gorse - closely followed by Wild Strawberry in the same spot on  28th of January. Many of the sightings are earlier in the year than they have ever been seen before in our wood.

43 species of flowers seen so far this year - see Wild Flowers Full List & top gallery.
The first Bluebell flower was spotted on 16th March.
Anemones & Bluebells together now looking splendid - see header photo above.
Horseshoe Vetch and Salad Burnet are newcomers to our woods - planted on the BB.
